Rava (Sooji) Upma Recipe for beginners| Easy Upma breakfast Recipe

Ingredients:

- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 2 cups granulated sugar

- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder

- 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda

- 1 teaspoon salt

- 2 large eggs

- 1 cup milk

- ½ cup vegetable oil

- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

- 1 cup boiling water


Step 1: Preparing the Batter

- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.

- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.

- Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes until the batter is smooth and well combined.

- Gradually add the boiling water to the batter, mixing on low speed. The batter will be thin, but that's normal.

Step 2: Baking the Cake

- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.

- Place the pans in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean.

- Once baked, remove the pans from the oven and let the cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes.

- Transfer the cakes to a wire rack to cool completely before frosting.

Step 3: Frosting and Decoration

- Choose your favorite frosting, such as chocolate buttercream or cream cheese frosting, to complement the cake. Spread a generous amount of frosting on the top of one cake layer.

- Place the second cake layer on top and frost the entire cake, covering the sides and the top.

- Get creative with the decoration! You can use chocolate shavings, sprinkles, or fresh berries too.
